There's a guy in the California ST Facebook group who gushed over his dealer (Montebello Ford) getting the RS, but got really cagey and defensive when we asked what the markup was... Now we know why. $15k is by far the highest markup for an RS I've seen in SoCal. ... And $500 for door edge guards? Shady, shady, shady...

I'm pretty sure x-plan nullifies nonsense like this, if you can get x-plan. I don't think it addresses dealer added options, however.

I'm pretty sure x-plan nullifies nonsense like this, if you can get x-plan. I don't think it addresses dealer added options, however.

Special cars like the gt350 and the RS are excluded from x-plan pricing.

Ford is shooting themselves in the foot allowing dealers to mark up the RS like that. That car will sit on the lot instead on the street convincing folks to buy STs. That's where a halo car belongs. Not marked up out of reach. For that kinda green I'll go get an M anything, not a fuckin Ford to be serviced by the same moron that just finished working on an Escape SUV. Idiots...
