Beside the obvious, "it's for switching something on or off", can someone identify what mod the switch is for?

The car has a lot of performance mods so I'm thinking it's related. With a long press it turns an LED on the front of the switch off/on. Hopefully it has a grander purpose than just lighting its' on LED.

Ok, finally got it figured out. Apparently its a dealer installed alarm that's made by Karr.

Most of the features are already present in the standard factory alarm. Basically it just adds shock sensor, (good for false alarms,) auto-lock and intrusion notification.
