I realize this is a very old thread, but I wanted to share my experience with this first gen version of intake elbow. I had some spool up time lag from this. The only reason I figured this elbow was the culprite was by needing to switch back to the stock elbow when I had to take some internal measurements to install the S280 kit I bought a while back. I also had a strange whistling noise at part throttle (not turbine noise) that also went away after removing the whoosh elbow. There was also a slight increase in max boost, which was strange as well.

Comoaring the two elbows, there was a significant port mismatch between the stock turbo inlet and the Whoosh elbow, which likely was the cause of the issues I had. I did order one of the new elbows Ron came out with, so I can take advantage of the newer V2 elbow's design. Theres no way the plastic elbow will support the airflow needed by the S280 kit.

@ron@whoosh I ordered one of your V2 elbows and hope it will be a closer fit for the stock setup. Would you have an exact measurement in mm of the V2 elbow flange? I have to pull the S280 setup out for warrantee work (they won't pay if they see aftermarket engine parts), so I'll need to run a different elbow for now.
