Panel reinstall troubles

Changed out my shift boot, didn’t realize at first that you don’t take out the piece around the boot and that it’s all one big part. Now that I’m done installing the boot. I’m having problems getting that piece back in. I have one small white clip I’m not sure where it came from. The rest of the panels fit back in fine. Any help as to how this piece fits back in correctly?

check out from 3:15 to about 3:50, I think maybe this is what is giving you problems, there are two studs (for lack of a better word) that need to be inserted BEFORE you snap the panel back into place... The white clips go on the bottom of the panel. they clip on to pins that then in turn snap into the dash.
