It's really handy to have for doing back-to-back comparisons. Nobody really wants to rent a dyno for a couple hours to do some quick plug-gap tests, so as long as you have a good road and consistent procedures it will give you legitimate information for free.

I gapped a new set of plugs to.029", installed a Cobb Intake, and I did a OCC+CFM breather valve install too. I used "smoothing 3", and below is a Stage 1 AP OTS 91 octane before and after the intake install.

I've always heard that with some intakes it's common to gain HP up high and lose a little TRQ. This comparison backs that claim up, and I am going to reflash to AP OTS Stage 2 91 octane this evening and datalog again.

I figured you guys might be interested in seeing my recent (not the latest) log of the custom e20 tune I'm building with Boostbumps.

NOTHING has made such groundbreaking differences in knock resistance like ethanol. It's amazing and I'm sold. Never going back to e10 unless forced. Check out my Cyl 1 ignition timing.

Stage 2, ~80 degrees, datalog 5 is cruising with minor pulls, datalog 6 is first through third pull, datalog 7 is 4th degree pull.

Barometer: 29.68 inHg.

http://datazap.me/u/pacifist112/july-13th-cruising?log=0&data=4-9-12-13-14-15

is there anything I should be concerned about in here? I'm seeing a few times where one of my cylinders will be at 0 or so ignition correction while the rest are at 2 or 3

I briefly looked at them and nothing looked bad. For the most part your cylinders are advancing and remaining above 0, which is good. The pulls are relatively short, but for the most part anytime there is a reduction in a cylinder it begins to climb again-which is also good. Finally, none of your corrections dip far into the negatives and the worst I saw was a -.04.

There are going to be times where a cylinder or two doesn't want to stay in line with the rest and that's pretty normal. Make sure to keep mental notes on which ones do it the most and watch for trends because eventually you'll want to reduce the monitors of your 'good' cylinders to view other parameters. At some point in time you may want to pull your spark plugs to verify that they're all gapped the same, but outside of that I wouldn't be concerned given that dataset.

When testing new tunes for performance, first thing I look at is elapsed time from 2500 to 6500 rpm. With same car and tires, if its not quicker than my previous best, why? If it is, what are warning signs in data if any?

I know its a mr. obvious thing. F=MA.

Am I reading that right? Took 15 seconds at WOT to get to 20psi??
Peak boost not until 5900 RPM? Doesn't seem DD friendly to me. Guessing it makes good power, just too high in the RPM range it seems. But then, Hijinx's goals aren't the same as mine. I doubt any two of us have exactly the same ideas.

I forgot about this thread. Here's an update:

Ooook... So... I was concerned about my spool time so I started chatting with drag4life723. He had me strap a rubber glove to my dump and lo and behold it blew right off. This meant that my wastegate wasn't closed. I sent him pics of my pre-install and he says, "the valve seat goes under." So... I start scratching my head and think to myself..."oh damn, let me check the packaging." Sure enough, there the valve seat was... -_- I was so embarrassed that I couldn't help but to laugh at myself. Moral of the story, people: Don't be Hijinx. Loaded my base tune up again, and here are the results:

Much better spool RPM there.

Couple from this morning:

A few minutes of highway cruising, 70 degree ambient: http://datazap.me/u/etyrnus/highway-...g=0&data=4-5-9

4th gear, 60-80 mph, 70 degree ambient: http://datazap.me/u/etyrnus/4th-gear...g=0&data=4-5-9

Just wanted to share with you guys...
Customers car I've been helping him tune... Also.. He happens to have my ported exhaust manifold, ported turbine housing, and my upgraded EFR wastegate.
Other mods include... Levels intercooler and turbo-back exhaust. Stock air intake, drop in filter.

Also.. To give credit where credit is due... This is razorlabs E40 tune with a few tweeks to the tune ;)

Tune is also not done. 3 revisions, none for higher rpm power ( mostly tuning the throttle closures out in the lower rpms ).
