Question regarding OCC install on my car (pics inside).

Hello

I tried sending a PM to Mishimoto here on the forums but for some reason I don't think the website would actually send it. Anyway, it's not anything too complicated so I figured I'd just post the same question here and the pics I took and get some input. Basically, I installed the OCC the other day and I wanted to check with either Mishimoto or others with the revised bracket with regarding to clearance of the tubes and the can itself in the engine bay. What I've found is that, the hose that goes from the catch can over to the front side of the car seems to be touching one of the stock lines right behind the passenger side headlight. At the same time, a stock line that runs directly under where the can is positioned seems to be in contact with the bottom of the can itself. I just wanted to ask and see if these items being in contact with each other could be problematic heat/wear wise. Attached of pics of what I'm referring to. Thanks!

The A/C line that is touching the catch can line and the bottom line that is touching catch can itself are perfectly fine and normal. We realize that it is a tight fit but have tested and manufactured this product with no issues. We can assure that you will have no issues from heat or contact of the lines and can. Those of you with the can installed, what do you find to be the simplest manner in which to check or drain the can? I had difficulty unscrewing it even after disconnecting the hoses, and while I haven't tried the drain plug on the bottom, it seems like it would be difficult to access even if you came from underneath.

Because I have skinny wrist/arm, I find it quite easy to just untwist the can, bring the bottom portion up out of the engine bay, carefully as not to spill the oil, and dump it into a plastic container/bag.

Those of you with the can installed, what do you find to be the simplest manner in which to check or drain the can? I usually remove the headlight to check/empty the can. It's easy to do and I don't need to break my wrist in order to do it. Other than that, I've had a couple of issues. As far as hoses touching other lines within the compartment, you just need to undo some of the hose clamps and readjust. I was able to get everything nicely spaced by doing so. I did have an issue of the can bending the bracket (the circular mounting point) because there are only two screws which secure the can to the bracket itself. Notified Mishimoto directly and they sent out a replacement bracket.

I have also noticed, however, that there is still some oil bypassing the can and getting into the "out" hose connecting to the intake. A hell of a lot less than without the can, but still, I was a little surprised to notice oil in the plastic "out" barb screwed into the can.

The draining ease/capability (and the overall larger capacity) are the reasons I went with the boomba racing can over this one, despite it's lack of 5/8" hoses (they are 3/8") into and out of the can.

I also like it's mount better, and the (much hated/dissed on here) fact that it is made here in the USA as well.
