So I had a weird thing happen yesterday. Driving home from work and just start hearing this like growl when I press the gas and banging when the car jerks from gears. Lo and behold, one of the 13mm bolts holding my RMM in, I have a COBB I replaced in there almost three years ago, just up and came out and disappeared. Quite a confusing mechanical problem to arise. Trying to find a new bolt today.

holy buttcheeks - better loctite the next one in! Remember to get the proper grade of stainless bolt and nut! Dealership may have in-stock.

Yea definitely gonna use locktite this time for sure. I'm jacking it up now to just bring in the other bolt to pick it up a spare if they got it.

Get a Nylok nut and use some Blue thread locker! and at least a grade 8 bolt.

Hmmmmm. I have my car up on stands currently as I'm having issues with my hybrid turbo. Maybe I'll pull mine and put some thread locker on, that is scary.

I honestly have no idea what happened at this point, looks like either like the bolt broke or something but now I think I'm missing the spacer and whatever bolt was used on the smaller circle side
Also looks like there's some separation that's not suppose to be there

Oh well right now I have to try to get a new bolt from the dealership, and I'm reinstalling the oem RMM until I hear back from COBB if they're willing to just replace it I will, trying not to really spend any extra money if I can

Definitely would recommend doing that

I read something about rmm bolts coming loose after installing an aftermarket rmm. I periodically check them now.

So update, Ford said it would take til Tuesday to order the bolt, so me and my roommate went driving down the street where I felt the change, and lo and behold, we found the bolt in the middle of the road haha. So now just gonna grab some locktite and reinstall the oem until I can either hear back from COBB or have to buy a new one

That's pretty cool you found the bolt. Those bushings are pressed in so it looks like maybe it's just separated a little bit, maybe you could push it / press it back in.

Shout-out to Cobb though, emailed them about the problem and pictures and they already got a new RMM slotted for shipping on Monday

Props to Cobb. That's the way it should be.

I installed the Whoosh RMM a few months ago and always stick a wrench on it when I am under the car, (it's always been tight and right). You never know how vibes and harmonics and that stuff will effect something like that.
