Should be excited for the upcoming Auto-x season, but not....

If anyone is looking at the new compound rt615k+'s...

... I bought them when they came out last month and tried them out at autocross today.

Here's a few, quick bullets.

Pro: predictable, get warm quick... did not overheat, low cost
Con: less ultimate grip compared to re71 & rival S

These will probably be a great all around track tire d/t cost and heat management but will not dethrone any autocross tire.

I ran at an event today as well and loved them. Granted I ran the last 2 seasons on RE760 Sports on my GTI, so I'm sure any 200tw would feel better.

I had another opportunity to run on my home course this past Sunday and am still very impressed with these tires. This was a short test and tune with my local group, so we only got 4 runs in. I was able to see how the ST on these tires stacked up against two of the three guys that I was battling with last season and I was about .4 quicker than the closest one. I was excited, them not so much.
