Sync 2 iPhone Pause Issue

I connected my phone via the dock/cable for the first time in a few months. The audio (music or podcast) would play properly for about 5 minutes and then pause. Once locked up, the Sync 2 system wouldn't interact the phone at all (dock/bluetooth) and struggled with none phone functions. Unplugging and reinserting the cable would allow another approximately 5 minutes of audio before pausing again.

My plan is to update the sync software this evening. Any other ideas? Anyone else having issues?

iPhone Xs: ios 14.2
Sync 2: Version 4.32 (3.7.11)

Updated the Sync 2 software to the newest version 3.10.16180 (3.10). The issue prevails.
