Ticking from engine?

Hello, I’m new to this forum and a new fiesta owner. I own a 2017. I’ve noticed quite a loud and constant ticking noise from the engine at all revs but mostly noticeable at low. I recently took off my cowl to do an intake install and noticed that it’s even louder without the cowl on. Is this normal? Is it the injectors?

I think it's the direct injection - my 2017 sounds almost like a VW TDI with the hood up.

No..its any injector Dealy man! Changing oils will not dim it down any as it relates to fuel.

It does a little, actually, even though it is mostly from Direct Injection... Our BMW X3 with a 2.0 twin scroll DI literally sounds like a diesel, so it could be even worse.
