Hi,

I did a timing belt job due to a failed tensioner, now my car barely idles and if i hit the gas it just leans out. That makes me think this isnt a timing issue because if it was off it would either run like shit or smack something.

There must be something stupid for this circuit to behave like this, any ideas?

yes i've screamed and cursed more than i would have liked.

Sounds like you have some connections that need to be checked.
Definitely start with the harnesses along the intake path.

Posting information like the following will help others help you.

P0505 — Idle Air Control System Malfunction
Indicates a fault in the Idle Air Control (IAC) system. The engine computer detects that idle speed cannot be properly controlled, often due to a sticking IAC valve, vacuum leak, or throttle‑body issues.

P061B — Internal Control Module Torque Calculation Performance
Signals that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected an internal error in its torque‑calculation logic. This can stem from PCM failure, wiring issues, or corrupted internal calculations.

P1116 — (Manufacturer‑Specific Code)
P1116 is not a universal OBD‑II code; its meaning varies by manufacturer. Common definitions include:
  • Toyota/Lexus: Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Circuit Stack for the coolant heat storage system.
  • Honda/Acura: ECT Sensor Range/Performance. If you tell me your vehicle’s make/model/year, I can give the exact definition.
P1124 — (Manufacturer‑Specific Code)
Also a non‑generic code. Depending on manufacturer, it may relate to:
  • Fuel trim issues
  • Air/fuel ratio sensor performance
  • Throttle‑related faults Again, the exact meaning depends on the vehicle.
