I know its an interference engine my thought is can I just pull head have repaired reinstall head and all good or does it usually damage pistons too....Thanks

Yes, the pistons will be damaged as well and If a rod breaks, you could also put a hole into your block. Not something to put off, it'll cost you more in the long run. You are going to have to replace the belt if it breaks and now you add the costs of the components that were damaged, because of the broken belt. Do you feel lucky?
