Tires - Any Suggestions for a HP All Season?

Getting about time to put a new set of tires on the FiST.
Top of the list are Michelin Pilot Sport AS4. Had the AS3+ on our former Flex & loved them, coworker had them on her Mercedes & they were great on there too.
Looks like it'll be roughly a grand, plus install, disposal, etc.
Doesn't look like Bridgestone does the Potenza RE980 in our size, have had that before as well with good experience.

Any other good tires to consider?

All around use is key, and need good heavy rain performance for the typical Houston monsoon rain.
Poking around Tirerack & Discount Tire, the Michelin is easily the best rated, with the General GMax AS-07 not far behind. Never heard of/used General Tire before, but they're also less than half the cost of the Michelin PSAS4.

I've had the Continental Extreme Contact DWS06+ in 205/45/16 for 10 months and they've been great so far. Very quiet compared to the 205/50/16 Indy 500s I had before. It looks like the Contis are about $75 cheaper per tire than the Michelins too.

The Indy 500s were my go-to when they were still reasonably priced, but the last couple years they got way too expensive.

205/40/17 Michelin PS4 All Season: $256 each
205/45/17 Conti Extreme Contact DWS 06+: $177 each

It looks like you'd have to go up to the next size in sidewall, but the Contis have been great for me. I'm sure the Michelins are amazing, but dang that's a ton of money for tires. I don't know much about General Tire either, but if they're rated highly they're probably solid.

For daily driving I go cheap, I have set of Armstrong in 215/40r17 though they make them in factory sizing.... They're 300tw and we're fine during Arizona monsoon and surprisingly usable in snow lol

Small speed discrepancy with a 205/45-17, but they're significantly cheaper. The PSAS4 is under $800 at a 45 aspect, vs $1k for a 40.

I'm on my 3rd set of Lionhart's. I don't buy tyres again if they're not good which is why I'll never buy Falkens ever again! Their customer service is crap!

I feel that way about Nitto, had a set on the flex & really didn't like them. The Pirelli Scorpions that were on my Explorer weren't great either.
Think I might give the Generals a try, worst case, I stick it out until they wear & go with the Michelins after.

I've had the Pilot Sport AS4s on mine since I bought the car and I gotta say I'm really impressed with them. Other than being expensive I find them a little noisy (could be cause they're old too). I haven't been able to out drive them for a daily but I try not to get too reckless either. Even in the rain I feel comfortable cruising the speed limit on the highway. If I didn't have a set of Dekagrams gathering dust in my garage I'd probably just replace the current set with fresh ones this spring. The Conti's are what I've landed on to get mounted on the Dekas.

I have a set of the Armstrong Blu-Trac HP in 205/45-16 and they are better than the somewhat worn Conti DWS tires that were on the car when I bought it. Definitely not a race tire, but good in the dry and wet so far. Impressive, actually. Don't know how long they'll last but at 60 bucks a tire I don't really care.

I have 10k miles on mine and still going strong, even with spirited driving! I'm also equally impressed with the cost to performance ratio and honestly recommend them to everybody as a inexpensive street tire. I do want to try their race version but they don't make many sizes
