Vapor Canister In Evap system broke

I just had an evap leak diagnosed and the shop said that one of the nipples on the Vapor canister broke. They quoted me a ton to fix it. I am just wondering has anyone had to replace this part themselves and if so how difficult the job was?

The vapor canister itself is $118 at tascaparts. There's a vent solenoid and nut as well which would add another $16.

The canister is very cheap on Rockauto

I replaced mine after whacking it on ice and cracking it. Its really easy to do. Just takes time and some wrenches.

Makes me glad I got the No-Pistons EVAP canister bash plate/protector back when they were still available.

I do have one on the car now. Itll stay on till trade in time

Too bad the guy isn't making these skid plates anymore. I wanted to grab one. What a shame!
