Currently I'm running the Cobb stage 1 with the green filter and a custom exhaust (magnaflow). I will be installing a cobb fmic on monday. Should I run stage 2 which cobb said was fine for my setup or should I do a custom tune? Personally I believe my car can handle much more than just the stage 2. I contacted a protuner shop that cobb recommended and they charge $500 for a dyno custom tune for my car. They suggested I get the downpipe from cobb, but I'm questioning if that is really necessary. What kind of hp/torque do you guys think the car can safely hit at this level of upgrades? And, are the tunes you are getting from I guess email from Randy and the other folks far superior to the ots maps. Thanks

With the temperatures getting colder, would that have much of an affect on my pulls for the mapping?

That higher flowing Downpipe is going to net you more gains than just about any mod once you have a tuner. If you've got the FMIC and exhaust installed, drop in the Downpipe and possibly a full intake (Cobb or Mountune) then just flash the stage three maps OTS until you can get in for a dyno tune. You'll net the most hp/torque gains for the least money that way.

The whole point of the FMIC is so you can run a Downpipe and future mods with more stable temperatures. Might as well take advantage of it.

What are the odds of this. I was just looking at a 2J catted down pipe. Awesome. Do you think their decent. If so I'm going to order it right now and go from stage one to stage 3.

Thanks for the advise!

LOL !!! [cheers] ... sounds familiar!

DP is a good move! Just note catless DP gives a bit more power than catted if you don't have emissions to pass in your state

There is no need for a dyno to get a great tune. With the data logging you can and need to do you can get a mail order tune that is probably better than the dyno tune unless have a very good dyno operator with experience tuning these cars, with your mods or close to it. Use the money saved to pay for your DP, etc....:)

Later on if you want to just get the numbers then go on a dyno day for $50 or whatever they charge.
