Why your FiST really needs that Rear Motor Mount Upgrade

This video from Cobb R&D shows the Focus ST's engine wiggling about wildly with the sloppy stock RMM bushings - Ford decided it would be cheaper to use the same RMM as non turbo Fiesta and Focii, so thus we're saddled with this very same issue. Ford has had to issue several TSB's to bandaid fix the Focii one and I am betting we'll eventually get a similar TSB - but why bandaid such a huge problem instead of fixing it proper.

This is why replacing the bushings with either the PowerFlex ones - or installing the COMING THIS MONTH Cobb Rear Motor Mount for Fiesta ST is such a good idea.

While the video shows you what happens with a Focus, this makes it visually clear why this is such a "Must-Do" upgrade.

thanks for the up. ive seen this video and would think ford would upgrade it asap as im sure its not too costly.

Thanx for the vid,yea it's def a must. It is really preventing me from driving the car hard off the line/to its full potential bc I don't want to ******* anything up. I'm gonna wait to see what Cobb offers,but joes price for a mount is awesome.just want him to clarify its a RMM and not a different mount.

Some FoST guys are using the RMM from the all-electric e-focus as a direct OEM replacement, not a bad idea!

I can confirm Cobb's done a rear motor mount and I assure you I will tell you everything about it as soon as I am "allowed" to show photos (eg: product is officially released)

This is a fact..what gets me is that Ford hasn't learn from their mistakes. We should be thankful the FiST doesn't come with a DSG.
