Sorry if I missed this somewhere but I'm trying to get some winter wheels and tires, the general altimax arctic are still on sale and iv seen good feedback on them (going with 185/60r15) but tire rack won't sell them mounted unless it comes with tmps. Im really not worried about the light and its not worth almost $200. Anyway does anyone know a vehicle I can put in tire rack that will still pull up the 15x6 48 offset steel wheel? Thanks!

Use a 2000 Ford Focus because it uses the same bolt pattern. Idk whether TPMS was as widely used then or not, but you can try and see.

TPMS only required 2008+. Ya it sucks they won't just sell them.

I also picked up the General Arctics and snagged a set of Fiesta steelies w/ TPMS for $120. This will be my first winter ever w/ proper snow tires - should be interesting.

I grew up in Wisconsin and never used winter wheels, but people know how to drive there. Now I'm in DC and we get rain and people seem to forget how to drive. The winter wheels are more for avoiding other drivers than anything. But I imagine it will be a pretty fun car with a winter set up.

I've had fine experiences here with all seasons, so I'm looking at trying a year around high performance all-season tire (16" too to help with the potholes, hopefully). Probably lose a little bit of traction in the dry, but I don't really test the traction of tires on public roads often haha

I bought OEM Ford TPMS and the reset tool for $74.00, paid for by the rebate from buying the General Tires. This way, once mounted, I can swap myself easily, for less than Tire Rack wanted for their TPMS/mounting.

I just ordered my set today. You can phone in your order and not add TPMS. Went with Firestone Winterforce on 15'' steel wheels. Ends up at $522 after $50 rebate. I spoke with Bart at x4669 he was cool.
