This is my tail of engine mount roll reducers aka RMM....
I tried filling the stock rear mount with pennies and urethane from home depot. The setup time on it was 5-8 days or something like that, lol. I had "that evening" to go without. I cooked it in a warm oven over night and installed before work ( at 4:30am). It helped, but not much. I was disappointed. And at somepoint, the pennies fell out as the urethane degraded, lol. It was almost a joke to start with, but always budget minded and never "to cool" to try something...
So I got a good deal on a 2J race mount... That definitely rattled my brain and made the car drive much better from a driving point of view. It also did very well at the track. It also made me feel like I had 200 cell phones taped to my body and 201 stalker ex-girl friends calling them on silent/vibrate. It was harsh. It also did its job. And it was cheap. 2J never advertised that it was from a Bentley. I later found it had a weak point.... Wear. The bushing is raw on the rmm bolt, and over time, my bolt actually wore the bushing its self into an oval. I was planning to sleeve this bushing and then reinstall the 2J solid mount. Instead... Read on...
My 3rd mount... I took my stock rmm and tapped in 3 large roll pins. They had to be lightly tapped in with a hammer, so they are tight. Then... I filled all the remaining gaps with silicone gasket maker that is very durable. Then... I let it sit behind my tool box for like 3 months. Finally, I installed it and was relieved it was not as bad as the 2J. But it did lose some of its engine control to the 2J. I'd driven around on this mount for 3-4-5 months ( IdK ), and a deal came along. A good friend of mine is selling his car to pay for a new house. And with it, parting the car out back to stock. He had a 2J race mount, then a cobb but he found it was too soft, then he ended up with this mount...
The boomba RMM. I expected it to be nice because I've had a chance to sample some of boomba's work ( I have their shifter linkage base spacers ). But this piece really impressed me when I got it in my hand. Its super light, and looks great. Even used, it was in perfect shape and fhe bushings looked flawless. I quick installed it within 24 hours. After its first drive.... I can say I'm extremely happy with the comfort this mount offers. There is some vibs, but they are a different frequency than what I'm used to. They are super tiny vibs where as all the others were similar to what you'd expect to feel from an engine idling. This is very very light. Even with the AC on, its super comfy. It also brought back some of the lost engine control I'd given up by leaving the 2J. It controls the engine perfectly. My friend said he actually could still get the cobb rmm to bottom out at the track, but never could get this one to. He even mentioned having mixed feelings about selling it, just in case his car doesn't sell, lol.
So far? I'm very impressed. While I have not personally tried the cobb, this is about as good as I'd imagine its going to get without an entire engine mount solution ( aka 3 upgraded mounts that as not super stiff vs one stiff mount and 2 raggy ones ).
I would like to try the CP-e, but to be honest, this is going be damn hard to beat.
