tried posting at the other fiesta st forum which basically sucks in terms of activity. 200 views with zero responses, so I'm just gonna bring the idea here.
after being stuck in an ice storm and not being able to make it up a slight incline due to summer tires, I realized quickly that we don't have a tow hook/strap like the euro models. So after spending a grand at tirerack for new wheels and tires, I did some research for tow options. not wanting to drill or weld if I don't have to, I had a thought.

could I buy a recovery strap, cut it, and get some of these 3 bar slides for racing harnesses and then loop around the front bumper and secure it in place? I'd think you could feed the loop through the grill, wrap the other end around the crash bumper like a harness, then cut the excess.

or if it's possible to just wrap the non-loop end around the crash bar then rivet or hand sew it together? Am I missing something completely obvious here in terms of safety/reliability/etc?
