I also like the thumb area along the east side of the state to the Oscoda area. Locally, to S.E. Michigan, I like driving to Hell for BBQ. The smoothest roads are on the west side of the state. 131 is wonderful and Grand rapids has much to offer in destinations for food and craft beers. I drive over 75 thousand miles per year. I know many awesome places.

Cruisin' Downriver

Anyone interested in meeting up on June 24th at the Downriver Cruise?
It's a pretty sweet event, and gets bigger every year.
There's lots of spots to setup a lawn chair & cooler when not cruising.
If there is enough interest, I'll contact Southgate Ford (which is on the cruise route) about letting us squat on their lot.

. I saw a bit of that a couple of years ago. I couldn't stay, just drove through. I will mark the date. I will be in the Kona blue Fist with 16 inch Enkie RPF-1 wheels, rear seat delete/cargo floor and Koni yellows. Among a host of other changes.

Waterford Hills Raceway, Gingerman, Mid-Ohio, M1 :)

No but as far as driving roads go, there's a lot of nice winding roads around the lakes in Waterford, Clarkston, West Bloomfield area. There's also the beautiful Irish hills south of Jackson but that's a bit of a haul

I'm interested! Not sure if I'll have much to show for it mod wise but cars and car people is always a good time in my book.

Sorry for the delay in responding guys, haven't checked this thread in awhile.
I'll contact Southgate Ford today regarding using their lot as a "home base" and report back.
At a minimum we could meet there and then find our own squat spot.
Lets set a time to meet,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,does 10am sound ok for everyone?

OK, I contacted Southgate Ford and here's the skinny:
They will be closed that Saturday for business because of the Cruise, but will clear a large area on their lot for folks to park. No reservations, first come-first served.
Will probably have porta-potties [pray]
Anyone who is planning on attending, please signup and PM me your cell #. I'll then send out a PM to those on the list, with everyone's number, so we can keep in touch that day.
Some might show up later than others, some might want to cruise the route a time or two, some might want to stay put. There are no rules. lol
Good idea to bring lawn chairs & a cooler, maybe even sunscreen.
Hope we get a decent turnout, should be a good time.

Come on people sign up. Most Fist I see on the road are going the opposite direction. This should be a good time.

I just stumbled upon this page, I'm on telegraph rd in dearborn in a loud, white platinum! I commute to allen park as I work for ford. I would definitely be interested in meeting some fellow STers for the cruise.

10am sounds good, should be just enough time for a quick wash and once over in the early morning (as I'll be coming in from Louisville fri night). Ill be in a white platinum but mine is still quiet haha

Guys, here's where we're at on this:
I've received PM's from John9851, Fiester, and speed_easy with their cell numbers, and sent each one mine.
We've got 10 days before the Cruise so hopefully some other folks will see this and join in.
In past years attending the Cruise, I'd hang out a muffler shop on Fort St that a good buddy of mine owned. Party time---------music, grills, motor home, hot cars etc.
We would have been more than welcome there but alas, he sold it. If we don't care for the Southgate Ford location, we can always move.
Bottom line, at this point there are four of us planning on attending. [thumb]
