How to permanently enable reversing camera?

Hey,

I want to know if there is a way to permanently enable my reversing camera to see backwards?

Sometimes I have to carry stuff about in the back that blocks my rear view mirror. It would be perfect if I could just have the reversing camera turned on to help.

Currently the camera only comes on if I select reverse gear, but I couldn't find anyway to leave it on.

Anyone know if this can be done?

Cheers

Do you really have a reverse camera? US models do not come with this feature, though many people want it. Could you provide pictures of the camera itself, and any menus that display its setting?

It cannot be added to US Fiestas except by using aftermarket parts.
In addition Ford will not provide programming.
This too is available from the aftermarket.
It becomes mandatory on all US cars in 2017.

Wish I could give you some useful information. However, since US models do not come with this feature at this time I doubt you'll receive much assistance. Perhaps an electrical guru can jump in with some general advice, though?

The Fiesta in the USDM does not have a video input (not sure of Euro).
Therefore video in motion is not available.
The Nav-TV unit, I have, also does not provide video in motion.
An additional module and programming would be required at almost another $500.00.
I know that Nav-TV can provide the hardware and software for the US, as I have already asked, just not sure of Euro cars.

Does that work though? It says for 8" screens, not the 6" which if im not mistaken is unique to this car
Yes it works.
As I posted above, I have it.

Thanks for the info. I know the camera wasn't sold in UK, but didn't realise it was the same case with the US. Hell, I didn't realise this was a US based site when I signed up... my fault [driving]

I just mentioned this in another post because I'm confused, but.. On the Ford website it has the '15 FiST listed with a back-up camera as standard equipment. I do not have this. Is that a typo or mistake then? Thoughts?

It is only available on the '14 - '15 Titanium model in the US.

In the past Ford has listed items available in the US that were only available in the UK.
So far no owner of a '15 in the USDM has reported having a rear camera.
I have however seen two postings of UK members that do have them.

So if we can get German model nav we could add a back up camera?

When I said above that I was not sure about Euro, I was including Germany.
I AM very sure that Germany is in Europe.

First of all the backup camera has nothing to do with the NAV system, it only uses the same display and that is in all Fiestas.
I would think that if NAV-TV does make it for Europe, I am sure it would work on the UK or German (Euro) system.

Maybe the best thing you could do is contact Tony at NAV-TV and ask.

However for you, me32, as you are in the US, you would use the same NAV-TV unit that I have.
And it works perfectly.

I dont think its the nav, but the infotainment hardware to accept the video signal and a programming since the Titanium trim has it. Not sure it would be cheaper than the Navtv solution.

So would a unit from the us titanium work in our fist with all camera hardware?
