I work for Firestone Complete Auto Care and I have a 2015 FiST. Now I have about 7000 miles on mine and of course these tires are half worn down already. Granted I do quite alot of hooning in mine, but I am thinking about switching over to the Potenza RE760 Sports. Wanting to know if anyone else has any experience with these tires?

I work for Firestone in Cincinnati lol. Im at 4/32" on my original set. Have 25k on car and ran GMAX AS03s over late fall and winter months. Why you wanna go down in performance? Figured since we have the half off all Bridgestones, you would want to go at least as extreme. Sadly they dont make RE71Rs in our size.

Well the RE050As just don't impress me and I've heard good things about the RE760s.

The 760 is stickier than the 050 and works better in the dry and wet in it's first half of tread. When worn the 050 does better in the wet than the 760.

Hmmm...that much of a difference? Is it as stiff of a sidewall as the 050? My manager and ran some 760s on his Genesis but switched to 970s. Said the 760s seemed to not have a long life either. Maybe it was the weight of the Genesis?

Were the tires he got have the proper load rating? That will make a huge difference in wear and handling.

I would assume so. I cant see him getting it wrong as he is a nazi about stuff like that.

The 970 is a good tire but it is also an all season, I was really looking for something stickier.

Is recommend Pirelli P Zero Nero. Max performance tire available in our size 205/40/17. Rated higher in overall performance, slightly longer tread wear and similarly priced. Check em out on tirerack.com

I have em and dislike them. They track very bad on grooves surfaces, bad enough I thought I had a wheel coming off. Stickiness they are like the re050's road noise is similar above that Ive only had them for a month or so.

I liked my RE's and they lasted almost 18k until a screw punctured a side wall on one. They were down to maybe 4/32's tread at that point so I replaced em all. If I didnt daily my car and have my car see cold road temps in the fall and winter I would have gone with a more performance oriented tire like a nitto nt05. i wantsd BFG sport comp 2 but tire rack said 4-6 weeks and I wasnt going to roll around 1/2 the summer on one steelie

Just to update I went with the Bridgestone RE760 Sports, had them for a couple months now and I am loving them. Much grippier in the dry then the O.E. and about the same in the rain.

I've put 3,000 mikes on them in 2 months, I really enjoy driving, and have only lost about 1/32nd of tread. And I am not being gentle.
