ALRIGHTY! I HAVE THINGS!

I received a very special piece from Ortiz Custom Pods located in Rhode Island.

They charged me $100 (I shipped at my cost for like $50) and it took a damned long time, but I have gotten one of the critical pieces for my build.

My custom Triple Gauge pod pillar modification!

This was made using my stock A-pillar pieces and it was modified to hold 3 52MM gauges. I am so very happy that I finally got it back. It took like 3 friggin months for them to get it to me. But For what I paid and the quality of the piece, I am satisfied with the product itself.






I currently have my Boost gauge and "Secret weapon" gauge in there. Sadly, the secret weapon isn't in my possession yet. But I plan to put a 3rd gauge but I have no clue what I want to put in there.
Intake temp?
Oil Pressure?
Oil Temp?
Exhaust pressure (For anti Lag applications and monitoring)?


I'm still dicking around with everything, but so far it's all coming together pretty nice.

Yaaaay! I can say that's a picture of MY pod!

Like I said. They aren't too expensive compared to what other places locally have told me ($800 are you fudging mad!?). I am unsure as to what they were doing but it took forever to get it. I suppose it's due to it being a new piece so they had to make sure it was right? But the workmanship is good and so long as you take care of it it will last it seems. What is kinda nice yet also odd to me is that the paint was like a primer matte almost. So I suppose that if you don't like black and you are handy with a rattlecan or paintgun, you can pretty much do different colors if you are going for an interior custom look. I thought about it, but for now it stays that color. Be warned of the smell of paint. It will get in you car a little. But it should dissipate after a bit.

Still bummed 2JR gauge pod never got off the ground. I don't mind the pilar idea but would personally prefer it more discrete at dash level.

It seems like they've had a few ideas that people showed interest in but they never got off the ground. I was really interested in that one too.

Installed a Turbosmart mechanical boost gauge, not tap required as i use turbosmart recirc valve
Something similar just occurred to me. My old STi had the OEM option Lamco gauge that is similar to your turbosmart gage. I liked it a lot as it was a 46mm gauge, not the standard 52mm so it wasn't as obtrusive. It just mounted through drilling the cover on the steering column assembly (Much like yours). These things are reasonably accurate mechanical gauges that match the OEM cluster well enough. All you need is a tap for pressure and a splice for the light.



Its actually a popular gauge due to it's size. It fits in stock locations (MR2 turbo guys love them, fits in the OEM cluster) and works well.
