Even that one looked pretty nasty up top. Those afr's aren't safe... I'm surprised adam was satisfied with that. All it takes is a bad batch of gas with those afrs and you only need to detonate once and there goes your cyl 3

I might be mixing up the graph, but AFR's look to be in the 12-12.5~ range? I assume the solid lines are the AFR, and the dotted are boost, or am I misreading that?

If it is normally tuned to do 12.5 AFR @ 6k+ no wonder the motor blew up, that's too lean. My e30 FiST (similar mods) is running 11.1-11.3 AFR.

Chances are your fuel pump got starved and wasn't able to provide enough fuel @high rpm and that's why it went lean up top and blew, but you should look at old logs and determine if it was tune doing that repeatedly or a mechanical failure.

I'd be more concerned with the actual lambda than the AFR display.

Yes, that's where you're at at the track most I'm assuming... 5-7k which is mostly lean- and then I'm turns, there isn't much safety if the tank sloshes and starves the pump...

except I had yet to track the car with the x37. Since the turbo install everything had been in town driving. I did have an upcoming track day but obviously couldn't go with the car down.

Edit: when the cylinder gave up I was in the process of tuning for 100 octane with DHM.

Interesting. I've no experience tuning a Fiesta, but when tuning my other car with megasquirt on E85, I shot for 12-12.5 AFR. That was at 28 psi on a fairly good sized holset. Different platform and engine obviously. I've never tuned anything that is DI, this is all fairly new to me.

Were you on aux fuel?

what are the necessary mods to get the most benefit from the x37? equal length tubular manifold, Intake and throttle body spacers, Auxiliary fueling, large bore cross over pipe are any of these beneficial or should I put it on, tune, and enjoy it. so far I've got the turbo, GFB DV, downpipe, intercooler, just trying to figure out where I should go from here.

2J race intake... if not a nice intake/cross over should help a little. The biggest thing you can do is meth injection. It's a game changer on hybrid type turbos.

Maybe think about some things that people over look like lighter brakes and lighter wheels if that is an option.

Intake spacers are about useless unless your using them for a meth nozzle.

The GFB DV or a turbo smart unit may help also.

$400 and we could put a larger compressor wheel in it if you can afford the down time...

hmm, more on the meth please. lol. the mountune ic isn't cutting it. any temps over 85 or so and it is done. specific brands and hook up of wiring, boost reference, controllers, jet sizes, etc would be welcome. thanks, bob

I personally like the AEM duel nozzle with the built in internal map sensor.

And use 100% meth of course :)

How much power is to be expected using meth on the X37 hybrid? I thought maybe 10-15 above E30.

I wasn't looking for more power so much. I was looking to cool the inlet temps on hot days while making runs. hope that is possible. bob

I don't know much about tuning but isn't stoic 14.7? I'm assuming it's different for e30 but 12.5 AFR still seems pretty safe.

For a lambda of 1, E30 is 13-ish.
