My answers in red.

1. For you who DD how is it? Love it. Small so it fits everywhere, quick enough to pass most anything on the road, oh and boost
2. How comfy is it? My BRZ is stiff as hell so thats my comparison. It's stiff at low speeds, but I doubt it's near as stiff as your BRZ.
3. Whats your real life MPG? I live in and work in Atlanta, so low to mid-twenties due to all the traffic
4. Any issues with the turbo? No
5. How similar to the SE does the ST drive (in terms of ease, i understand this has almost double the power) Never driven one
6. Is this a car you see owning for a long time? Without a doubt.

Hey Guys i really appreciate all the help! I just piked up my ST yesterday. The dealership gave me a killer deal so i had to jump on it. I'm really enjoying it thus far. I didnt go with the Recaro seats as im going to go aftermarket with the seats and hopefully save some money. Definetly peppier than my BRZ due to the turbo and the fact that it has about 20 more torque (my brz is modded) but what i like is how cushy it feels. Thanks again for everyone's help and glad to be apart of the family. I'll post some pics in the intro thread when i go introduce myself.

I could not live WITH the Recaros.......had the REAL ones in my BMW and Mustang Indy Pace car and loved them. These are a smaller, harder leather, and fewer adjustment version. My wife also did not like them. So try them for a long ride. I like the stock seats and the money saved went for the Mountune MP215. To each his own......the car is fantastic as my DD and I just completed a 4500 mile road trip in 8 days......loved every minute! HWY 35-37mpg @ 75 mph. Town 28-31 mpg. I am 64 and have owned many great cars in my life.....but none with the smiles per gallon as my Fifi!

Love the Recaros, the heated seats part is a pos! As it's nothing or all and only an on and off function. But, you have to remember. This is a econocar with tuner bits.

I was looking at many other cars in the 30k category and I have zero regrets:)

Everything you've heard about this car is 100% accurate. Super fun to drive and easy to drive hard. Ill start with the bad.

1.Looks is kind of wimpy and you will get teased and laughed at by most people.

2. people will always tailgate you because they think they can pick on you because its a small car.

3. you don't really feel like you "own the road" because there isn't much straight line power.

4. car has no street cred, nobody knows what kind of car it is and you will have to always explain it to others and defend it constantly.

5.not much space or room inside no matter what other people will try and tell you.

6. Car will depreciate rapidly and you will lose money on it brand new.

7. Car build is and feels cheap.

8. No much aftermarket parts compared to the Focus ST.

9. Transmission starts to feel like crap after a few thousand miles.

10. you will need an after market exhaust immediately.

other than those minor issues the car is awesome.
I own a 2015 Ingot silver Fist and spent a good year and a 1/2 with it so I know whats up.

Congratulations the St is a sweet car.

1. Amazingly fun to drive everyday i find myself taking the scenic way home
2. I have the Recaro seats and i find them very comfortable and positions me exactly were i want to be
3. I average any were from 30-35 MPG i have seen 40 a few times and dips below 30 when i really hammer on it
4. No issues
5.never drove an SE but the ST is super easy to drive point it were you want to go and it takes you there with a smile on your face[driving]
6. I plan to keep it as long as i can
Is there a way to display the current MPG rather than just the avg. MPG? Mine is currently at 21.6 avg. for some reason :/

1. For you who DD how is it? Love it. Drive it every single day, clutch is really easy to work with and parking is super easy to find.
2. How comfy is it? My BRZ is stiff as hell so thats my comparison. My cousin owns an FRS and first time I drove it I thought i was gonna end up liking it more than my ST, after driving it about 10 miles i realized how much more I enjoyed my ST.
3. Whats your real life MPG? I live in Los Angeles so lots of daily traffic. Averaging at 21.6 MPG right now
4. Any issues with the turbo? Only time I have trouble with the turbo is when downshifting from 6th to 5th and even 5th to 4th sometimes when driving fast on the freeway, it seems to have trouble building pressure.
5. How similar to the SE does the ST drive (in terms of ease, i understand this has almost double the power) [COLOR"#00FF00"]Ive test driven an SE before I thought I would be able to afford an ST, I ended up just waiting and saved some for a used 2014. the two main difference for daily driving (obviously theres a lot more power) is the steering which is very nice and tight and has a really good turning ratio. And the suspension which is pretty stiff and feels very good cornering turns, although it can be a pain in the ass sometimes if your in a place like downtown LA which has the worst biggest potholes in which case i have to brake or swerve around it so I don't get that hard thud (plus the stock tires are very low profile, already blew one out on a pothole going 30).[/COLOR]
6. Is this a car you see owning for a long time? [COLOR"#00FF00"]Hell yes. Even if I get another car I want to keep my ST and bring it around 350+whp and eventually AWD conversion.[/COLOR]

1. For you who DD how is it?
As a DD it's decent. It is comfortable and obviously a blast to drive, but it has poor NVH, and a really busy low speed ride. I enjoy driving it a lot, but coming from a MK7 GTI, there's simply no denying that there's better DD's out there at this price point. The GTI is a better strict DD than the Fiesta in every single quantifiable category there is.
2. How comfy is it? My BRZ is stiff as hell so thats my comparison.
Again, it's decent. I find that the Recaro's are very comfortable for short 30-40 minute trips. Anything past that and they might get a little uncomfortable due to the low movement. That being said, coming from a BRZ it will probably be a big improvement.
3. Whats your real life MPG?
My calculated MPG as of now is about 29.6 MPG city. DHM Stage 3, on 93 octane.
4. Any issues with the turbo?
Nope.
5. How similar to the SE does the ST drive (in terms of ease, i understand this has almost double the power)
No clue in hell.
6. Is this a car you see owning for a long time?
I can see myself owning this for another 3 years.
Answers in the quote. Here's my opinion, take it with some salt... The Fiesta ST is the perfect car for someone who puts driving over everything else. For the person who tracks, AutoX's, weekend warriors or just the general hoon the Fiesta makes a lot of sense. That being said, the car you've specced will be about 25-26K MSRP so we need to talk about alternatives in that price range. The GTI and the Focus ST should be mentioned because they fit what your thinking of. BUT I think the Fiesta is actually the better car than the FoST when price is considered. So it comes down to what you are looking for in a car. If you are solely looking for a DD that is sporty, but you have no intentions on tracking it or doing any real high performance driving, I truly think the GTI is the better car by miles. It is comfy, it has significantly better materials and build quality, it's nearly as efficient, it's faster, it's bigger, it's more tunable, it's quieter, it rides better etc. So again, it comes down to what you are looking for. The Fiesta ST is the better car for me because it has better driving dynamics, better shifter/clutch, little more steering feel, and I think it's a better track platform. So I wouldn't go back, but if driving fun isn't literally your #1 priority, I'd say look into a GTI.

The Fiesta ST i'm thinking of getting.
Racing Stripe
Ewh haha. Not a fan of the stripe, just looks super ricey imo. If it's on a Viper ACR? Sure, that gets a pass. 25K Hatchback? No.

Agreed. Except one thing...I don't intend to race mine and I'd still choose the FiST because it's Fun to Drive. You don't have to race it to appreciate it. This car isn't just fun to race, it's fun to DD too and if I wasn't using my motorcycle to commute and if lane splitting weren't si useful on these crowded streets of LA, I'd be using it a lot more.

I've already got nearly 30k miles in less than a year owning it and that's only partially using it to DD because it's so fun to drive. I racked up the same miles on my G35 in 3 years when it Was my DD and I was using it 100% as a DD except for most of the last year when I started using the bike to commute...and just in case you were wondering, I don't drive uber.

And I disagree and that's perfectly okay. In my opinion by not being able to drive the car at ten/tenths in a safe setting you are giving up the single biggest advantage over the competition being the excellent driving dynamics at the limits. Cars like the new FA20 WRX and Mk7 GTI are 95% just as fun on the street as the FiST, with significantly better daily driving manors (less so for the WRX, but still better). On track is a completely different story imo.

I was looking at the $20K and under category, and there was NOTHING else out there, regardless of manufacturer, or COA as far as performance goes, so it was the ONLY choice for me!
(I'm just VERY happy that it was offered by a domestic nameplate for once, vs. the much, and almost exclusively loved on here Nippon and Korean nameplates. ;) )

#1 above; You are probably correct, but I have not experienced this yet.
Most just do not know WHAT it is, and comment that they do not see too many of them, which is the truth in this area (and even in North jersey when I go back there to visit).
I can see it being mistaken for a C-Max over a Prius, or Fit. etc. since it is shaped much closer to the former, and there are a decent amount of those around here, especially in my color.

#2; The only ones so far who seem to do this are the self-privileged wealthy in their status-mobiles (but they do that to EVERYONE who is not driving one of their rolling fur coats), and once in a while the local extreme right wing peckerwoods in their coal rollin' bro trucks. [mad]

#3 AGREED, but I came from a 400+ to the wheels, lightened, 4th gen LS1 f body, so that's to be expected until I have as much, or more powa as Hijinx and others (IF ever).

#4; I kind of like this because maybe this car does NOT reflexively get lumped into the import nameplate, ricer, sport compact category.
I'd rather surprise the 'JDM YO!' crew than have them know what this beast really is, or is capable of. [wink]

#10; AGREED, and I thought I could hold out for the Tomei titanium system, and install something AFTER the salt soup winter, but I will not have a clutch left by then, since I over-rev on 1st gear take off due to this thing being WAY WAY TOO QUIET factory stock, even with the sound symposer still connected!
I got used to shifting/engaging 1st by SOUND ONLY with the Z28, and NOT looking at the tach, so that CP-E Nexus system is going on as soon as I get it, salt be damned!!!

the display will say "MPG avg." but the numbers do fluctuate depending on throttle input while driving. sometimes it will be stuck on what ever number was left on the display when i last shut the car off but you just reset it until it only reads dashes (---.-)

Push the end of the turn signal stalk in. That will get you several different options. Unfortunately you can only see one at a time, but there is instant mpg, average mpg, odo, trip, miles to empty, and I think something else.

Agree on a lot of what was said, with where my car sits ATM. I have surprised a lot of cars, including myself! This car gets better with every mod.

I hated the shift action of this car but have done a lot to improve it and it's gotten pretty sweet.

For the Cpe CBE, you're going to love it! It sounds so aggressive and so exotic almost. I heard a ATP dp+ fswerks and although it sounded nice, on the Strat CnP it sounded terrible. The pops were tin can like, where as mine sound like a shot gun going off, almost anti lag if the cars been running hot enough.

For aftermarket, I think people have found a nice turbo for it. Hybrid , hands down! Unless you're chasing 1/2, 300ish whp is the PERFECT amount if you can retain the low end spool of the stock turbo.

I've poured A LOT of money into this car in less than one year of ownership and I'm quite happy. I looked at all the mentioned and I'm happy I went this route. BOL[emoji350]

I've cycled through all the different displays and I've never seen the instant MPG. I have odometer, trip, miles till empty, avg. mpg, and avg. mph. Is there a way to show instant mpg when the avg mpg is being displayed maybe?? If not I don't care too much, would just be interesting to read while in higher rpm's.

I Bought a FR-S Brand new back in 2012, I was one of the first to get one back then and I had gotten a lot of stuff for it RCE Yellows, Innovate supercharger, Borla Headers, Custom Cat-back, If I had to choose FR-S or a FiST I would go back to a FR-S, its better in pretty much every way. Aftermarket is a million times better especially now. They are way more competitive being rwd.

Don't get me wrong FiST is a great car, I have a lot of fun in mine, Auto-x has been a lot of fun learning FWD but the FR-S is a 2 door rwd version of the fist. similar power (even though its feels faster in a FiST) they weigh the same, frs had lower center of gravity and much better feeling stock suspension. I am also 6'4 and the FRS seats were amazing for me, FiST Recaros are a little tight and can get uncomfortable on longer drives. Also with a helmet being 6'4 is perfect for me in a frs, FiST not so much, not as much head room and I don't even have the sunroof. Also the FiST stock seats give you more headroom but they aren't really anything special.

Daily Drive is fine in both cars, stock v stock frs I would give the edge to though.

I only got rid of my FR-S because I was having my 2nd child and needed something with 4 doors... if you are in the position of having both that's great, they are both a lot of fun.

Yeah this is why i am keeping my BRZ. I LOVE that car. to no end. Sure its slower than my FiST (for now hehe) but my god i love the way it drives. I got the FiST more for the practical aspects like the bigger trunk space and 4 doors. But in the end i still want racecar hence the FiST and not a FiSE.

Answers in the quote. Here's my opinion, take it with some salt... The Fiesta ST is the perfect car for someone who puts driving over everything else. For the person who tracks, AutoX's, weekend warriors or just the general hoon the Fiesta makes a lot of sense. Luckily for me i managed to get my FiST for 20k out the door before my trade-in with all the options plus sun roof mentioned above. So the price was right there where i wanted it. And i wasnt going to get another car with these kinds of sport options in the 20k range. I LOVE being a weekend warrior diver. Thats why i bought my BRZ. I just wanted a more practical version essentially...that i could still take to the track or through my favorite canyon pass. My only thing is that the aftermarket options for this car seem incredibly small...which is a bit of a disappointment. At the same time it's going to make me spend less money on mods haha. Already spent too much for my BRZ. Probably looking to go a bit lower on coilovers and Stage 2 tune package with COBB. Where (if at all) do you guys go to buy your aftermarket FiST parts?
