Just picked up my ST yesterday... did the NAV update and seemed to work just fine. I did notice that nothing happens now when I push the NAV button... nothing. Anyone else have this problem? I read through about 30 pages before I just decided to sign up for an account and ask the question. I'll try it again this morning on my way to work! Thanks to everyone on here for all the info!

How long did you wait after trying? I had to drive around for about ten to fifteen minutes after updating before the nav system came back to life.

Just gave it the 5-10 minute power down. Good to know someone else had the same issue... and better to know it fixed itself!

I see in the Read me that is for the 2016 models. Is my 2015 SOL for this update and Apple Carplay?

Does your car have Sync 2 or 3? If you have 3, then you can, if you have 2, which is most likely the case, then no you cannot update

Anyone experience any bugs with the update?

I updated mine (w/navi) a couple months ago and experienced zero issues until today.

The whole system went to crap and basically stopped working.
-Stuck on the last audio channel I was listening to: Sirius NHL (can't change channels or source)
-Navi will not load (no gps signal, no maps, no nothing)
-Phone will not connect
-Display Brightness is stuck on night time (can not change manually)
-Steering wheel controls will not work.

I will pull the negative cable later today when I get some time.
Hopefully that will help.
No clue if the OAA/CP update caused all this.

Just wondering if anyone else has had troubles, helpful tips, etc..

I have not had any major issues on my non-nav. I do have a minor issue where sometimes Okgoogle hangs on to my audio and won't let go. I have to drop back to Sync and change the audio source and she lets go. But I think this is an Android Auto issue.

Try holding the power button and the right arrow button at the same time until the infotainment system reboots.

Worked perfectly on my non-nav system. Really digging the google map nav! Feel like I stuck it to 'the man' and his $800 navigation option.

Here it is! The moment all of us Sync3 owners have been waiting for. Read below to download the correct version of the update to go from v1.0 to v2.2.

To perform update, you will need a flash drive formatted in "exFAT" or "Fat32" format at least 4GB in size. Both files have "read-me" files with specifics of how to prep the flash drive.

Apple CarPlay will require an updated USB hub to work. USB hub part number GJ7Z-19A387-B. The hub is not required for the update but Apple CarPlay will NOT work until you switch to the updated hub.

FILES ARE COMPATIBLE WITH NORTH AMERICAN VEHICLES ONLY. DO NOT INSTALL ON UNITS WITH SOFTWARE HIGHER THAN VERSION 1.0/1.1

Download link for navigation units, read-me in zip file (total size 1.6 GB)
https://docs.google.com/uc?export=download&confirm=wvQm&id=0ByldYbWwjAf4VXpfdnVNNlVjdzg

Download link for non-navigation unit, read-me in zip file, TWO PART INSTALL READ CAREFULLY(total size 2.15GB)
https://docs.google.com/uc?export=download&confirm=IKl5&id=0ByldYbWwjAf4WUYyT2l0Zkl3S28

Is this link for the Apple or Android? Is there a different link for each one? I can't search thru 30+ pages

Its the same files. The difference is whether you have nav or dont have nav. There are different files for nav units and non-nav units. The apple/android issue is that apple phones require a usb hardware update/replacement whereas android does not.

I had went a different route:

Wonder if the onscreen map display can be used with the Windows Phone 10?

In any regard, keep talking like that and they'll "upgrade" the "maps via phone" option right out of the next revision. [wink]

I'll give them more time for an official release of the software; personally in no rush to upgrade.

I was just looking at that. They have the adaptor for $50 and the programmer for $200. I wonder if someone can figure out how to enable the functionality with FORScan and we could just get the adaptor and not the dongle. IIRC someone had got it to the point that the touchscreen was looking for a video input in reverse, so I feel like it could be done.

No, it can't. MS was working on a system similar to this based on Mirrorlink, but they have dropped them as a partner. So at this point there are no announced plans for MS to compete with Android Auto or CarPlay. However with the Continuum technology already in Windows Phone 10, they clearly have the tools to do it, but they probably lack the market share to pressure the auto manufacturers to include support for it.

Having switched from Windows Phone to Android to try out Android Auto a few months ago, I can tell you the very minute Windows Phone is supported in my car I will be switching back. I like Android Auto quite a bit, but on the handset Android OS is a mess compared to Windows Phone.

Thanks for the info Enamelizer. Can you interface with Cortana by holding the steering wheel talk button for a lloong second?

Funny, with regard to the UIs on the dominant two mobile OSs, I've been saying the same thing for years. Vendors clogging up and bogging down the OS are the same types of issues PCs faced some years ago.

I was not able to get to Cortana with Sync 3 with my WP 8.1 handset, but after I switched to Android a user here told me it was possible. So maybe :)
