Lower performance on E30 on stock ST?

While I have only my butt-dyno to go by,
I know how the car operates on standard gasoline, and E15.
I read that the stock ST can run up to E50, while the documentation does not recommend over E20.
So I went with 3 gallons of E85 and about 9 gallons of regular (up to E10).
Rounded off, that's E30.

I have to say, that acceleration is slower, and gas mileage is about 10-15% lower.
Considering the price I paid for E85 (this week at $2,39) I don't think I'll repeat this.

I did notice that 5 Gal of regular (<E10) and 5 gal of E15 works better than standard fuel!

1. You have to have a tune to run E30 end of story.
2. The car has no clue of the ethanol content, so it's not adding enough fuel.
3. Guys who run E30 with a tune put premium fuel in with it.

Is this P.D. registered under a new username??

Seriously man, we told you in your previous thread that you needed to tune the car to run E30...

You probably have me confused with someone else.

I merely made a statement that it runs worse on E30 than on E15.
My apologies if I offended anyone.
This afternoon I accidentally added 1 gal too much of E85. I actually was planning on adding only 2 gal.

The remarkable thing is that it ran better on E15, than on regular, on a bone stock, factory ST.

Yes, it will run worse on E30 because the amount of fuel needed for the combustion process is considerably more than on normal premium fuel. In essence you’re starving your car of fuel because the ECU hasn’t been told that it should be delivering more fuel (a tune).

Also, it should run better on E15 than on 87 (whatever that filth is) because E15 has a much better octane rating, but doesn’t require as much fuel to used as E30. You basically had 93 in the tank.

Please stop experimenting without a tune or you may not enjoy your car for very long.

Wouldn't the O2 sensor compensate for lean burn?
