I've been considering something like this:

I took the FiST up to Palomar Mountain and got pulled over for not having a front plate. They're trying to discourage people from driving hard on the mountain, so they're giving ticky-tack tickets.

Since then, I've been thinking about something like this as a good option when I feel like I'll be more at risk of being pulled over for the front plate, and then can leave it off anytime else.
