Paint Issues on Molten Orange

Hey guys, posting up as I just picked up a 2014 Fiesta St in Molten Orange and noticed a defect, I feel, with the paint.
I was washing and waxing the car this weekend and polished the whole car. I noticed the bumpers paint is a different color than the body’s paint. I also noticed that the rear bumper was misaligned?
The drivers side has a gap and the passenger is touching causing the area to rub.
The car has normal chips and what not which is whatever, par for the course I suppose....but this seems serious on a less than 5 year old car.

The paint ended up flaking off when I was waxing and this is what I am left with.

Does this seem normal? Is there a gap supposed to be here to prevent touching? Anyone else have an issue like this or have mismatched paint? The bumpers seem noticeably lighter in color than the body itself.

As far as the paint chipping and peeling, the paint on these cars is KNOWN to be thin and easily chipped. Its an econo-box car with a bunch of performance parts thrown on, what did you expect?

I'm with you on that!
Yes, it's an econobox platform at a desirable price point, but that is no excuse.

Cheaper cars are built better than they used to, we have come a long way. Paints and metals are better.

This car appears to have had one or more incidents before you bought it. I also have a 2014, but in blue, and I have none of these issues. Gaps are consistent between my front and rear bumpers and no paint chipping.

I had a 2017 Magnetic FiST before the Orange one, and the roof paint just decided to peel off after a year of ownership. Fortunately I was in B2B warranty and they fixed it for me.

My partner has a 2017 Orange Spice (mine is a 19) and his paint is peeling off his front bumper around the grille, badly. We brought the car to Ford with 14k miles on it and they told us it was from "rock chips" but you could clearly see the paint lifting off the bumper. Sometimes Ford will warranty it, sometimes they will not. But with you being way out of B2B warranty and not having any corrosion / rust I don't see them covering it.

Well, you were correct in assuming they would not cover it. My dealership has decided to order me the repair kit for this paint to repair it, so that’s something I guess. I’ll probably put some clear protection film on both sides to prevent this from happening again I think.
