I am interested in deleting the grill completely. DiVinci has a pretty cool kit for front crash bar and light mount but they've been out of stock for a while. Does anyone know of a grill delete (without crashbar/light so forth) that anyone is offering?
I would like something to cover the mounting tabs other wise I would. I agree on the crash bar. I'm likely going to spray it black to minimize appearance.
I used a combonation of ofla knife and angle grinder to cut the grill out, drilled the two corners. flapper disk and sandpaper to smooth the remaining trim ring and some gloss black spray paint to finish it off.

It changes the structure of the car. It's probably as safe as the steel bar it replaces, but nobody knows for sure until it's mounted on several cars and they're all crash tested. BIG money.

I'm sure that you could build a fixture that would load the two crash bars in a bunch of different ways that would compare their strengths in a vacuum, but that doesn't mean anything once you bolt them to a car and examine the system as a whole in how it protects the occupants of the car under test, a car striking it, and pedestrians struck by it.
