Hey Guys!
Was really hoping I could get some help...
Last night whilst driving home, I hit about 6000rpm in my 2014 Fiesta ST180 in second gear coming off a rounabout. My car dropped into limp mode and the "Powertrain Malfunction" light came on (on it's own, no engine malfunction light) I also had the "Service Engine Now" light appear on the Sync media system. Does anyone have any common possible causes?
I recently serviced my ST myself however DIDN'T change the Oil (picked up the wrong type) I know it's stupid but I've probably not changed my oil now for 15k+ miles. I've never had any Oil lights come on previously.
My ST has just this week ticked over 41k mileage.
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks,
Ben
***UPDATE***
After some investigation over the weekend when I was off work, found the issue! hopefully this may help anyone who ever has the same issue:
For whatever reason the error code doesn't store on the FiestaST the only time I saw the code was when I turned the engine off with the OBDII reader plugged in. I got error code P0113 - this is MAF Sensor related.
I took it out and gave it a good clean which seemed to help the cars performance but only short lived - I eventually got the code again therefore is more likely going to need replacing or the issue lies in the wiring, taking it to a specialist garage today to verify. Hope this helps anyone, powertrain malfunction light can be scary!
