Lmao I wish you luck...... here is a 235/75r15 I put on my wife’s crosstrek with a 2 inch lift last month. I put in front of my st as thought was funny how huge they are. No fn way gonna get it under fender. I have a headache from trying to get to fit under the crosstrek and it still rubs some after cutting smit out of stuff and pounding on pinch weld etc.

You would run into a number of issues with a 2-3" lift, that is enormous. All your suspension geometry would be way beyond what is designed for resulting in terrible handling. Not to mention you would need to find different CV axles.
Don't mean to necro-hijack a thread but, @JDG in your experience what is the highest one could lift a FiST without the issues you talk about? I apologize for what's probably a noob question, just trying to get an understanding of the bandwidth of our platform. I've heard of a coilover kit that can lift the car 1" independently of spring compression, and I'd flirted with the idea of asking the company if they could possibly put together a version that goes beyond that and lifts the car further - but your comments make me wonder if even 1" is too much. Appreciate any input.

^^^Which company markets these mythical coil overs??
(That is NOT either the M-Sport/Bilstein R2 setup, or the $8K+ Reiger setup also for the R2 Fiestas?)

It's a newer outfit called Raceworks, I'm eyeing their Overland kit for our car. Just looking for now, fully aware of the potential consequences of going with an upstart brand rather than something with a little more, shall we say, heritage. It's just the only kit I've seen for our car that lifts AND lowers, for winter and summer.

There is also the Silvers Suspension/Neomax setup modified by Panda Motorworks for stage rally use, which you could check out as a non-'upstart' brand.

I will probably go with these myself, IF I can be somehow guaranteed their delivery after pre-paying Panda for them to be built.

Do you have a link to the modified panda setup?

https://www.pandamotorworks.com/col...eo-max-stage-1-rally-coilover-system-fiesta-s

They don't put it in their product description, but they told me that they can set these up for full-on GRAVEL stage rallying duty (which is a bunch higher static ride height than factory, and probably not adjustable with those springs/valving down to even factory ride height), all tarmac with lower height springs, or something 'in-between', which is what I want since that option will allow you to go from about a half inch lower than factory ride height, up to about an inch or more higher than that. Are the Silvers height adjustable? And if they are what's the total range? Doesn't seem to be any info on the site.

You have to call them and speak to extension 700 (forgot his name), but the way I understood it, the ride height ranges vary by which spring height/use (and hopefully valving as well [wink]) you choose.

These are NOT rebound or compression adjustable in any way, but they did mention the option of 2 and 3 way adjustable, remote reservoir, setup variants in the future, for a bunch more $$$ of course.

Just called and spoke with (missed his name), told me the max range would be just about an inch or maybe a little more and suited to the individual's needs. So could do +1.75"-2.5" like they have on their rally car or a more dailyable +1.0"-just under stock height, and I'm sure more one-inch ranges in between. However, to achieve that range the spring will be compressed, which will obviously affect damping and is not what I'm after.

I'm lifted about 3/4" now and there is a guy on instagram lifted maybe 1.5". My lift doesn't compromise anything other than a bit more body roll. I personally wouldn't go beyond what I've done if you want to maintain the excellent road manners of this car.

Well my only goal is a makeshift Baja fiesta with Mickey Thompson's so we'll see where that idea takes me

The lift I'm considering would just be for wintertime when outright handling is a little less of a concern. I already compromise my handling by switching to 15" winters so I can deal with the additional temporary body roll and decrease in roadholding through corners. I should've asked the guy at Panda if they'd made any modifications to the driveline to deal with their car's 2.5" lift. Left a message, will update when I hear back.

From what I could see/tell from inspecting their car in Parc Expose at this past year's STPR in September, there were no mods to the axle shafts/CV joints on their car.

But, the owner/driver of that car IS a member on here (albeit he has not posted anything in a while), @jcr557, so maybe he could come on here and clarify those issues??

You could also get tophat spacers front/rear to lift the car an additional 1" or so.

How easy are spacers to install/uninstall on the front though? I'd imagine that would involve removing the coilover from the car every time you wanted to adjust your height which for me would be twice a year at a minimum, which would then mean that same number of alignments every year. Or is it easier than that?

Yeah, if you want/need a quickly/easily adjustable ride height change (as I also would, as long as there are ARA Rallies in existence to work on), a coil over is the only way this can be done.
Whether or not even the coil over height changes require a radical alignment change as well, I don't know, and will leave the answers to that to the experts on the topic.

The shame is that except for the very few options that have been noted, there are not any coil over manufacturers which are making what we few need/want, since we (you, I, and the few others) are in the vast minority vs. the majority which only wants to either just lower their rides, or outright slam them to the ground, for which there are almost hundreds of options. [mad] [:(]
