Interior mods complete?

I judst bought the final pieces to complete the transformation from sub-compact economy car penalty box to a semi respectable quasi luxury interior. I may get the rear arm rests next year but the bits I see everyday are done.

I don't know what else to change. The starter buttons available I don't care for. I don't like the lil gel stickers whoosh sells for the e-brake handle. The cubby covers don't speak to me. So maybe I'm done?

Looks good. I think simplicity is key, especially with these cars. Little touches like what you've done make a big difference in the look and feel, but changing things out just because you can more often makes everything look worse/disconnected.

Looks very good! This is something I would like to pursue with my own vehicle.

How was installing the arm rest in the doors?

I'm not too bothered with the stock wheel, but the price on the Mewant wraps is pretty inexpensive. I think I will see how they hold up on those who have them before I commit.

But I am the exception to the 'rule/norm' in that this car's interior does NOT bother me one bit, like it does almost everyone else, and I do not need a 'fine' Teutonic/high end Nippon type interior to be satisfied with the car.

Hell, if it could still be street legal somehow, I would want a fully gutted interior, with a flocked/gutted dash, full gusseted cage, 6 point harnesses, race shell seats, suede race steering wheel, etc. LOL

The more race/rally, and the less luxobarge, the better, for me. [wink] [driving]

I never have thought the interior of our cars was that bad, although I'm not picky when it comes to those things. However, my work truck had its transmission go and my company set me up in a base model 2019 Nissan Frontier and that thing makes our FiSTs look like a luxury car.

Been playing around with doing a carbon wrap on the door handles and possibly the cup holder trim. The shift boot with that stitching looks fantastic. I put in the red Ford power ignition button. Its nice but so minor not something that really pops.

why didn't you use the redline steering wheel cover? My factory wheel is bad, it flakes off in my hand

I have not pulled my door panel yet, so please tell me, how is that arm rest piece held in? The only video I have seen so far, briefly shows the back side and it looks like plastic pegs are melted down. I have my own plan to pad and cover and want to get it done, but I'm not pulling the panel until I can see what's back there ahead of time. Too busy at home. The drive for STOA from VA to NC was rough on the elbow...

I would add the hand brake piece from whoosh.
Here is my handbrake piece and it is aluminum. It doesn't fit the recess perfectly, but it's a fn lever. Who cares.. it is from ALIEXPRESS.

I have not pulled my door panel yet, so please tell me, how is that arm rest piece held in? The only video I have seen so far, briefly shows the back side and it looks like plastic pegs are melted down. I have my own plan to pad and cover and want to get it done, but I'm not pulling the panel until I can see what's back there ahead of time. Too busy at home. My first attempt at a youtube instructional video will be installing the arm rests. I have to edit all of the videos and such. Give me another week or so. I'm busy working on my house this week. But to answer your question, it was an involved process that is intimidating until you do it...or see it done in a youtube video ;)

lol i built a car like that once. It was a borderline race car for the street. I loved it for while but eventually got sick of the noise and discomfort. I just got to a point where i didn't want to get in the car to simply go to the store and have the car constanly begging to be driven at 9/10ths. It became an annoying puppy that wanted to play all the dam time lol. So now i like some creature comfort with my speed. But i hear ya!

I wanted the redline and had plans to do it until i saw the post on here about Mewant. For a 1/3 of the cost i figured why not.

I would add the hand brake piece from whoosh.
I hate the bad fitment. It looks tacked on. Like it belongs to a different car. It would slowly naw at me lol

I really like the armrest inserts, I bought an armrest cover and shift boot from redline too, nice quality stuff. I think I would love to cover my steering wheel....was it a pain to do the wheel?
Not really a pain, just very tedious. Probably about 4 hours from start to finish. It will be half that time if i ever have to do it again.And i probably will. I would have preferred the Redline setup as i could mix suede with leather and get the full white stitching i want. But it can wait.
