Just got ITG intake with whoosh induction hose, has anyone experienced any collapsing with this hose?

I can easily squeeze it with my hand, I know people have discussed this and said it’s fine but that was like 3 years ago. Anyone running it for a while and had any problems? I’m sure I’m fine with such a small turbo, but just making sure.

Think about this for a Second.....your engine is essentially a big vacuum pump. If you put your hand over the suction end of a vacuum, What Happens? It tries to suck whatever is plugging it in. The ITG has LARGE filter on the end with minimal restriction. It is not enclosed like the Stock airbox. You should be fine.[driving]

exactly !
there are some set ups with larger turbos that have collapsed the hose when the intake is restritive
for example if you have a turbo upgrade, silicone ind hose and the OEM airbox, ST200, or Mountune lower box. You could experience some collapsing since the airbox is a restrition
This will not be the case on the stock turbo
And if you install a free fllowing intake such as the ITG, you should not have collapsing issues with any turbo size
Our sponsored Fiesta has been on the whoosh crossover, whoosh induction, and ITG intake from stock turbo to whoosh hybrid to Peron G-Series 25-550. Making up to 400whp/413wtq with zero issues

I believe this issue occurs when the air filter cant keep up with the volume of air the turbo needs. This causes added vacuum and eventually folds the induction hose.

The only collapsing issue I had with the ITG was the plate thingy that holds the filter is super thin metal - I can't really feel well with my hands and overtightened the filter and crushed where the metal tube goes into the filter. I fixed it with a pipe expander and bead rolled the edge after.

What is the filter made of? Is it just that bit of foam. Are these run dry? I know the brits seem to like this set up. Headlight off for filter clean/replacement I'm guessing?

I really like the sounds from the itg.

I ran a Whoosh induction hose with the ITG for years without issues. My car spends a lot of time at WOT as well. No problems. X47, whoosh crossover, whoosh induction and ITG intake.

It’s wet. I oil with PJ1 but any should work. It stays very clean actually. It’s a very effective intake. My AP regularly shows intake temps 1-2 degrees below ambient while in boost. And yes, headlight out for maintenance. It’s infrequent unless you drive dirt.
