Can someone help me identify this mystery exhaust?

My car arrived today and I realize it has some mods that were a bit unexpected. First I’m trying to identify the exhaust. Sorry for the dirty pics, it just came off the truck.

Could just be a modified tip? I'd get it on a rack/lift/jack stands and look more at the rest of the exhaust.

Yeah, it could be. I can’t really do more myself since I’m disabled, but I’ll try to get better pic once I can see the car on a lift.

Definitely looks like it's missing the factory muffler, maybe mbrp/mbrp clone with a different tip... The stock exhaust is ultra quiet, is it loud?

It’s somewhat loud I guess, but not excessive. Granted I’ve only driven it maybe 2 miles to get gas and back. It’s definitely got a blowoff valve that’s way too loud for me, but maybe I’ll get used to it. My friend who tested the car for me out of state definitely missed a bunch of stuff sadly. I thought I was getting a bone stock car.

You might just have a diverter spacer causing the blow off noise, stock exhaust sounds like a Camry....

can attest to the camry statement... wife has a 2016 camry LE with a 2.5L gas motor, stock exhaust.

That most definitely could be it! It’s pretty ugly.

And you guys are definitely right in that the car definitely has a muffler delete, it’s about as loud as my Camaro SS 1LE in track mode at normal cruising speed I’d guess. I haven’t driven the car on a highway yet to see how annoying it gets. It doesn’t bother me doing errands around town that much. Right now my car feels like a “poser car” to me with the loud exhaust and BOV and no big power, but we’ll see if it grows on me, or if I want to take the exhaust back to stock (or get the Thermal exhaust). Thermal sounded the best to me on YouTube.

Your f body (Camaro) is a 5th or 6th gen, I take it? (Since you mentioned 'track mode' which redirects the exhaust path and noise level with the electrically controlled, internal butterflies, correct??)

I owned a base, no options, I even deleted the power windows, 2000 Z28 4th gen with the LS1 and T56 gearbox immediately before buying this car.

Yes, that’s what I mean, my brain works very oddly with names after having Lyme disease for nearly 40 years. I have no clue why, but it makes names really hard for me to remember!

And yes, my car is a 2020 2SS 1LE 6-speed w/PDR. Your old Camaro almost sounds like one of those B4C (police package) cars that were hot in SCCA racing for a while, but I think that the B4C was only available early in the 4th gen cars, but I could be wrong again.

It was not a B4C code, but it did have a full delete, NO options code (which I forgot now), as I wanted to have the lightest LS1 Camaro ride possible, which I then set up for handling, and not the drag strip!

It was a 'bang for the buck' bargain, since I paid well under $20K for it, special ordered, new.

If I remember correctly, there was a 1LE option for the earlier, 'bucket headlight' ('93-'97), LT1 4th gens, but not for the latter 'bubble headlight' ('98-'02) LS1 4th gens.

Gotcha, I was very close to buying an early 4th gen probably around 1993/1994, but I ended up buying an E30 M3 instead, and in hindsight I made the right call. I was actually considering a SLP Firehawk back before they were made at the factory. I remember I was blown away by the Firehawk doing 12.9 in the 1/4 mile back then, but by the time I was racing and modifying Porsche for a living my tastes changed and I was more into handling. That M3 was my daily driver for over 15 years and I sold it for $8K around 2007.

Even with the penalty of the road race suspension, front sway bar still attached, full size front wheels/tires, and just a tune, SLP air box and cold air duct, and Nitto drag radials I went 12.5 @ 115 MPH in mine on an unprepped, but good DA for that run, at Atco in southern Joyzee, in that Z28.
