I ordered something from Russia in mid March, and it showed up two weeks ago. Stuff has been getting super delayed because of corona.
Well that’s at least promising to know you were in the same situation and it worked out.

Did some tiniting for murder prep come body kit time. Had to tape my third brake light up because screw heads snapped off, thanks rusty crap. Will tap those when replace later. For now tape was easier. Nothing crazy to see here, but I like it on the black car. Looks pretty nice 👍 Happy with it.

I like it. What product did you use? NiteShade? I think I want to do this to my Magnetic after seeing it on your Tux.

Thanks man, and yes I used VHT nightshade - 3 coats on the reflectors and 2 coats on the third brake light and tail lights.

Next project is to fabricate a duckibill and do some custom LED strip DRLs/Switchbacks in the fog housings. Also thinking of grinding out rear bumper honey comb and painting rear crash bar...

I used that on my F-body, only thing I didn't like about it is that it fades after a while but it did have it on for a few years really.

Looks very good btw, I'm thinking of wrapping the tail lights

Thanks man, and yeah that’s alright by me if fades I’ll just strip it and throw another coat on. That can has enough in there to do it probably 10x 😂 Wrap is a great idea too, I just have horrible luck with vinyl.... I’m so bad at it and it’s the most frustrating thing to me ever!

I forgot whether or not you've mentioned it before, but which f body did you own?

I also came from owning an '00 Z28 for 16 years from ordered new, right into this car (after waiting 5 months for them to build/ship it to me).

99 Z28 with the performance 3.23 rear end and aluminum drive shaft A4. Owned it for 14 years already. Just need to give it a little love, since it's been sitting for 6 months :(

But yeah, let's not thread-jack xxiaze's thread any more. [wink]

Fueling up last night, thinking to myself... my tank cost is aprox 25-30$ depending on the day/amount empty. So the thought was, when I go full e85 and big turbo/4port... what sort of range will I get and what will the new cost of fill up be. Can anyone speak to this? What’s your experience, if any? Note: I do not drive conservatively, I have no regard for general fuel efficiency. Current avg. is aprox 24mpg

I drive like you. I usually get 23-24mpg on 93 octane (~250 miles between fill ups). On full E85 I get about 17-19mpg (~185 miles between fill ups). I got 21mpg on a e85 fill up once when I was driving far and trying to conserve.

Excellent, that’s super useful, thanks man! Doesn’t sound too horrible then. Have you noticed the expense being comparable with the ethanol or more/less per mpg?

When I did the math 6 months ago or so (E85 and 93 octane were both cheaper), E85 is an additional cost by a slight margin (I think it was 2 cents/mile more). I have a spreadsheet somewhere, just need to find it.

Decided to grind out the rear lower valance honeycomb and remove the weathered/aged plastic or vinyl whatever around the windows today. Bae just started to do the windows which was nice! When I took the bumper off I was SHOCKED to see how horrible the rear crash bar had rusted... I’m pretty sure shouldbeeasy mentioned this too. You where right! So painted the crash bar and touched up some rusty spots on the body while I was at it. Painted the lower center body so wouldn’t see primer through new bumper valance cutouts.

I so wish that I had a garage to work in!! [:(]

That shaved rear valance 'grille' looks really good, and it might even help keep it cleaner, since the 'cells' are now not closed, and will not hold onto the dust, pollen, road grime, and water as readily. [thumb]
