Looking for a decent UHP All Season option in 205/55R15. Currently looking into the Federal Formoza AZ01 which seems to get pretty solid reviews. Hard to understand though what people are comparing them to as the reviewers don't always have sports cars. I want to see how they compare to the General G-Max AS05 and BFG Sport Comp 2 AS which I have run in the past.

Discount Tire Direct has two Nankang options as well but through various google searches they don't seem to be as stout as the Federals. Lots of instances of bubbles forming or vibrations starting after long use.

Does anyone have any experience with the above? I am not usually a cheap tire guy but the 205/55R15 options are super limited so I may have to branch out a bit. I have had really good experience with my Federal gravel tires so far so as a company I am pretty impressed with Federal.

Following as I'm looking to replace my winter wheels with a uhp all season. I can't stand these winters anymore.

IF I ever converted my Method 15x7s over to daily driver duty, this is the size they would be getting as well, so I also want to know how these compare. [wink] [thumb]

DTD has the Kumho Exsta 4X 2 in that size as well, but I have no experience with their tires, whether pedestrian, or competition varieties. [dunno]

Have had Kumho tires on a lot of cars, while I don’t specifically have experience with the Ecsta 4X, I’ve been surprised by the quality for the price. They’re no Michelin or Continental competitor, but they stack up well with B-Tier brands like BF Goodrich, Nitto, Yokohama, and Sumitomo. FWIW, they are an OE tire supplier for a lot of manufacturers namely Hyundai.
