Im looking at a 03 Focus SVT with a bad engine. Aside from the rear brakes and wheels, what else can i run in the FiST?

Thats literally it.

That said. If you want to have a fun n/a car itll be a hoot after you rebuild it. ( coming from a modded svtf owner before buying the fist.)

Could an RS/Stang/Explorer 2.3 be shoehorned into a 1st gen Focus??

The Mountune built, naturally aspirated 2.4 liter, ITB, 300HP+ rallycross, Duratec based lump would be cool as well, but $25K! [crazyeye][ohcrap]

From what ive seen, some dudes are dropping 2.0 Ecoboost motors in them.

I already have the FiST. I dont need another project.

You can drop a 2.0 or 2.3 into them. But you have to use a duratec mtx75 5 speed transmission. Not a bad deal as long as you get the 3.86 gearset from a zetec focus mtx75.
Going rwd is a whole different game.

2.3 will fit. Thats in mine but nit an SVT. There is room for a 2.5 but anything other that the 2.0 that came with it will be a pita. On the bright side they are lighter than fist's and have double wishbone in the rear. Back up rally car!
