Currently driving a 2010 Mini Convertible. It's been a litany of problems in the time I've had it. Seemed like every problem that gets resolved, another comes in its place. It was free, and I had under $2k in it, so I was able to break even on it since it wasn't worth much as a trade [and I didn't want to deal with PP sales with it].
Nearly pulled the trigger on an Impreza Sport 5-door, but it was across Houston [an hour on a good day] and just didn't really fit into having the time to get down to check it out.

Ford dealer very close to us had the FiST pop up, a 2017 with under 100k that looked to be in stock condition.

Drove up to look at it last night, and it showed in person as well as it looked in photos. Price was right & the car seems to have a fairly new clutch & brakes. Much roomier than the tiny Cooper, I can actually sit in the back seat with the driver's seat in my position. I've got a 5 yr old, still in a carseat, so the extra backseat room is a big plus, and I didn't want to replace the Cooper with an appliance.

Before this, we've had 4 Fords:
2013 Flex SEL: Wife's DD, served us well until it got a weird key problem where it wouldn't start.
2016 F150 XLT: Had this for about 2 years, wife had her own business & we had a cargo trailer to pull for it. Flex wasn't going to cut it for that. The pano roof had an unfixable rattle/squeak that drove me insane, so we moved on from it. Hindsight, should've just kept it & figured the roof issue DIY.
2018 Expedition Max Limited: Wife's current DD. 76k on it & going string. It does 95% of family hauling duty [we have 3 kids].
2020 Explorer Limited: Was mine for a while, had a few oddities pop up & we got out of it for the Cooper, which also knocked out a car note

Adding on the 2017 FiST. It's a base, which suits me fine for a commuter. Just 1 or 2 little cosmetic things that may need attention in the future, but aren't a bother enough to mess with right now.
Should be picking it up tonight or tomorrow, we made the deal too late for my CU to tfr funds, and this dealer doesn't do the extended test drive/bailment on used cars anymore. Spoiled by a few bad apples.

Yeah, I've done it with multiple cars purchases in the past, new and used.
I was a little surprised when they said they don't do them anymore. Had a few get wrecked between leaving the 'ship and financing being finalized.
