A thread for new or soon-to-be ones (Car seats)

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to start a thread for which could sort of fall in this general "Interior mods" category.

I've got a little one on the way in 2 months and I've tried two car seats so far...no dice. I want to open this up to you guys who already have kids and have had to go through the headache of finding car seats for them without having to roll your passenger seat all the way forward. I tried 2 so far and my wife could not fit in the front seat.

I've tried one from Chicco and one from Brittax with no luck. Chime in all you dads out there and drop your wisdom on us soon-to-bes!!!

Thanks for the links! I was in a rush as my wife and I were in the driveway fitting car seats into the car as best we could. Now we are measuring the seats and looking up dimensions on every one we can find lol.

We use safety first seats for our twin boys, they are almost 2 years old but they work really well. You can find them at Wal-Mart. Guide 65s.

Thanks. I'm looking for newborn to like 1 year old. That seems to be the hardest to fit into the car.

We use one from Graco rated to 35lbs. I ride pretty close to the wheel and my wife is relatively short. We mounted it in the middle of the rear seat. It's worked well for us so far. Our daughter is about to be 18 months old and very tall for her age, but we'd like to keep her rear facing for as long as possible. So far the larger seats without modular bases are proving challenging. Luckily my wife has a new Fusion with ample room.
