It could potentially depending on how catastrophic the failure. Ive seen compressor blade chips in the cylinders and charge pipes before. The chips pitted the valve seats so some compression was lost. Pistons had minor pits as well. I've had a turbine blade come through the iron turbine housing running 40psi on a 60trim. When I sent it to the builder for repair, he said he'd never scene that and asked if he could keep the turbine housing as a conversation piece. Lol.
