Boomba Cable Bracket Bushings Install Issue

Title. I’ve gotten to the part where you’re supposed to “pull on the lock rings to remove the shifter cables from the bracket” and this has proved to be impossible, even with a RoboGrip. I’m probably just an idiot and missing something small and obvious lol. Anyone have any insight? They’re not even trying to budge.

I did it last winter with the Whoosh bushings, I remember one being easy, and the other being a challenge. I believe that a small shot of lube (ideally something plastic safe - silicone spray lube for instance) helped make removal easier, but it was just a case of make sure the collar was pulled all the way back and wiggle the cable assembly upwards at the same time.

Definitely one of those things that's easier said than done sometimes.

Those are a pain but doable. Pull straight out, when you see the gap form behind it spray some WD on it. Worked for me.
