Clutch slipping?

So I'm noticing slipping after 3k rpm on heavy acceleration but I'm already in gear. I'm not slipping at all when putting the car into gear. Has anyone else had this issue? Trying to figure out if this is actually the clutch or something else not engaging properly.

Rocket has a Spec aftermarket clutch, and lightweight flywheel in the car.

He will have to respond as to how many miles are on that setup. [wink]

On this particular setup I drove between 3-5k on the clutch and flywheel before it gave.

On the car itself 25k but motor was replaced and trans was rebuilt.

I am wondering if the AP Racing built ST200 clutch is the best way to go nowadays, for multiple reasons. [dunno]

IF we are to believe the stampings on the parts, even our factory clutch parts are made by AP, but the ST200 is supposed to be uprated/stronger (and hopefully better longevity as well) friction material, and pressure plate strength/clamping force.

According to Ron, he's gotten multiple complaints about the spec clutches and flywheels and I can start to see why. I don't think I'm putting 405 ft lbs at the crank... Yet why am I already slipping? Like... All the bearing were replaced when the cars trans got rebuilt, brake fluids full, trans has fluid, engines running solid as ever. Everything points to the clutch but I just wanna make sure I haven't overlooked anything. I talked with spec and the only thing they can offer is that I send it in and they test the clamp pressure to make sure I didn't get a dud which isn't very promising of an answer. Ron says the xclutches are the way to go for the biggest power but he's also said the stock clutches are way more solid it seems than even the stage 3+ spec clutches based off what his customers have said. I wish I knew this before I dropped so much money on it.

Spec had a pretty bad rep in the LSx/4th gen f body, and y-body world as well.

I guess they are no better for the turbo four banger apps. [:(] [mad]

Still debating lol... I hate that I have to remove the bumper to get my cold side pipe out but the tial 55mm and the sandwich plate are worth it

So I've been thinking about this and yesterday I came up with a theory. I had a leaking valve cover gasket. If they oil found its way into the bellhousing and onto the clutch it's possible it could be the reason it's slipping. I'm gonna check it's condition but if it's too far gone I'll need to replace it anyway. But if it's not too bad maybe I can just use some brake cleaner to pull the oil out of the clutch.

Ok no rivets exposed.... No oil on clutch from what I can tell. A shit ton of grease in the bellhousing and idk where it came from. Pictures of pressure plate and the rest attached. What do you guys think? I barely know what I'm looking at
