hello.. sooo.. just venting here if you want to read it.... i dont usually have the time for my DD to be down so some of the work on my ST is not always done by me especially if it requires tools i dont have on hand. I *think* i want to get some Koni str.t orange struts/shocks for a nice ride that isnt so jarring, and the car has 70,000 miles on the OEM shocks. I can get the shocks struts for and other hardware for about $500. The local repair shops wont install customer supplied parts ( and i get that) but they quoted me $2400 for the koni STR.T shocks struts, mounting parts, and labor.... They said labor was $640 (not bad) but the up scalle on the parts? how much is that? its over 3 times! i asked the mechanic on the phone about it and he gave me a premade speech of how they need to uprate parts costs, and how my parts are junk because they came from the internet even though its still a Koni product from a reputable source! i WISH i could work outa my garage and charge $2400 per job for struts/shocks... id be rich.

I mean the struts only take a few hours to install, the rear being the easiest... I even purchased a spring compressor from harbor freight and then returned it the same day after I was finished! Accomplished with a single jack and two stands in a parking lot.
