COBB intercooler adapter

Was getting my COBB intercooler installed and was told it is needing an adapter piece. I saw no mention from COBB that this was a needed part so was curious if that is pretty common when ordering .

why does it need an adapter piece, its a bolt on intercooler.

I'm not even sure what adapter you're talking about.. the IC is held in place by the OEM bolts and the OEM couplers are the same size. Maybe they meant the center support that needs to be either bent down, notched, or removed entirely?

That shop doesn't know what they are doing, take it elsewhere

Did they actually read Cobb's instructions? It's literally bolt on. No cutting or adapting anything.
