Coolerworx installation problems

Hey guys, I’ve bought a coolerworx for my mk7.5 Fiesta ST. I’m from Spain so I suppose my Fiesta is Euro version.
I’ve noticed that coolerworx advices that a modification in one of the transmission cable connector (shown in the photo).
But in many videos from youtube people don’t modificate that transmission cable connector.

So I’m asking if someone knows if I should do that modification in my Fiesta and why is it done.

I didn’t have to modify anything to get the Coolerworx to work flawlessly in my 2014 USDM Fiesta. I still have the original linkage as well. Set it up correctly the first time and it won’t have problems.
