Today when getting my windows tinted I couldn’t help myself and decided to go with the 5%. I’m glad I did. It looks fantastic. NWA said it best. FUCK DA POLICE!!! If they don’t like it they know where my zipper is.😂 Lifes too short to live in fear.

Or you just get your optometrist to write you a prescription for window tint and carry the letter in your glove box and never have to worry about it.

'Legal' or not, the cops around here WILL pull you over, incessantly and repeatedly, regardless of any documentation, due to the assumption that you are a "G", and a criminal, with windows that dark.

Their Sigs/Glocks/FNs/whatever will be drawn when they approach your car as well, just NOT worth the chance of getting shot, to me at least, no matter how cool it looks, or keeps the car's interior in the summer. [nono]

When I drove a completely stock Ford Escort, the common question back then was, "is this your car". It didn't have fancy rims, or window tint, or any modifications. When they want to knit-pick, there are any one of dozens of "real" excuses available. When they started to nit-pick about no front plate, (being cited three times in one year,) I flat out refused to comply. Literally half the people on the road don't have one. If it isn't that, it'll be something else. The state recently removed the front plate requirement. But at the same time they also outlawed lighting that isn't original equipment.

This is shameful behavior to say the least. If they're that frigg'n scared, they're in the wrong profession. Unfortunately I can't even say it's legit doing that when something comes back on the plate simply because I know from personal experiences that they literally make stuff up and stick it in that computer. (we never see these "reports", so why not) For one example, they had ME (note: https://www.fiestastforum.com/threads/concealed-carry.5526/post-120813) attempting to reach for a cop's gun in this "report". (me who spent a LOT of time trying to reason with neighbors on nextdoor.com not to acquire one) Without actually saying it they also wrote me up as if I were on drugs... someone who doesn't drink, smoke, take meds or even take over-the-counter. Me and my Mom watched these crooked SOBs stand around and put their heads together to come up with these fabrications.

When people are like, 'turn on your cabin light, put both hands on the steering wheel and remain completely still and answer with yes sir no sir' I'm like 'they put on their draws every morning the same way I do'. I never liked bullies in or out of uniform and if one bothers me, I generally let them know it.

Unfortunately, the actions of a few bad eggs do warrant a healthy level of skepticism for law enforcement... and I will certainly push back if they abuse their authority.

That said, these are also the people we depend on to protect and serve when we can't. It's often a dangerous job and if I were exhibiting any markers of criminal activity, I would expect them to take every precaution available to them. They put their draws on same as me, stands to reason they likely have family they want to get home to same as me.

Pointing a gun at someone for "Any markers of criminal activity" is exactly the problem... and not just with some LEOs. Whether it's LEO on a power trip or John Q Citizen with his hurt feelings it should be considered a problem either way.

Tax paying John Q Citizen has exactly the same right to get home to their family as LEO. "Serve and protect" is just a slogan when the standards for justice are unevenly applied.

Sounds like we're singing the same tune but with a different level of appreciation for how dangerous the job can be. No excuse to abuse authority, but I'd be the first to approach with gun drawn (and probably last to fire 🤣) in their shoes. Can't protect anyone else if you don't protect yourself.

I've had the police mistakenly draw on me (3 officers, we were parked in a shady alley waiting for a friend to get off work--car matched the description for a drive by that just killed 4)... scared the hell out of us, but I wasn't mad about it.

At the same time, it was law enforcement that brought my autistic preschooler back to me when she got lost at the State fair.

I've gotten the bullies/pricks (usually super green and in a soft/suburban area) try to pull me over for bullshit too. Best believe I made their lives hell for it 👍

Where is around here? You know how when you buy a new car you see that car everywhere? Well that’s how it was after tinting my windows 5%. Everywhere I look I see cars tinted 5%. I see a lot of rigs in Central Oregon with illegal stuff done to them. I don’t think the cops here give a shit.
