So I am due to receive the MBRP exhaust (just not yet), and I received my new CURT hitch system...

CURT hitch mount:
Easy to install without modifications.
Decent price (purchased an open box @amazon for $93 and it came looking new)

Functionality:
I suppose it works fine, mounting points seem to be firm.

WITH STOCK EXHAUST?
NO- they bump every 3 seconds and make a lot of noise.

This was mentioned in a previous thread but I chose to ignore the warning.

It seems to be very close but the hitch and the body move together so there is no problem there.

Good luck on your project.

I used some exhaust hangers like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/400722216378?lpid=82 To lower the exhaust about .75" and it made a huge difference in the amount of noise I get from it banging. I only get the noise if I hit a bump while cornering fairly hard or if I hit a REALLY big bump going to fast.

With a little work, I could probably figure out a way to reduce the side to side movement as well and get it down to almost never tapping.

Probably the best solution though is to go with an exhaust without a rear chamber. I'm probably going to have mine removed and straight pipe put in.

I just installed my MBRP and Curt hitch a few hours ago. No rubbing at all and I didn't trim the heat shield either.

Awesome, I have been following your thread... I just wanted to highlight that the hitch and stock exhaust is a NO go.
It looks great!

Thanks!

Did you use one or two?

Thanks!

I bought two, but I only ended up installing the one near the very back. Next time I have the car up, I'll probably install the next one back and see if it makes it any better.

Thanks for the help... My exhaust is two weeks away (best case scenario) and the knocking is bothering.

Will report results.

I purchased a regular hanger from the autoparts and did this using a bolt and nut I had on hand... This until my MBRP catback makes it to me...

Noise is gone for now... Thanks!
