The year of the Focus, not the Fist. IIRC the Focus seats from '12-'14 are an easy swap, everything else requires modification (but I might be wrong on those years). I recall it was a short window - but there are threads here that go in detail like Dpro mentioned.

13-14 FoST seats are easiest because the seatback bolts to the FiST base.

the 15+ seats can work, you just need to cut and weld the mounting tabs to the rails. (but then you'll have all kinds of other fun lights with the seat wire harness not working with the FiST)

Also I believe the airbag in the FiST seats will fit the 13-14 FoST seats and will be in the same position.

yes, the newer seats have slightly different placement and shape so you'd have to manage that as well.
