Driver Windshield Wiper Hopping

My 16 FiST is at 1,450 miles now. No major issues and drives great. Except my driver side windshield wiper started to hop and drag instead of a smooth wipe. Has anyone else had this issue? Any quick fix or a good replacement? It doesn't rain much in CA so I'm not overly worried but it is a bit annoying considering the car is still new. Other than that, love the car. Your replies will be appreciated.

Mine on my 14 will do it every now and again. But I think it's my own doing. When I pulled the wipers and cowl to do my downpipe I marked the wiper location with tape but I was in haul ass mode putting it back together and I'm pretty sure I put the drivers side wiper back on 1 or 2 splines off. Due to the design of the wiper arm this changes the geometry a little. My wipers are coming off again soon so I will correct it. Hopefully my hypothesis is correct and the hop goes away. My advice would be to pop your drivers wiper off and move it one or two splines clockwise when looking at it from the front and see if that helps. It is possible it was put on slightly off.

Mine does it occasionally. Remedy is to thoroughly clean the windshield (clay bar) and use something like RainX to make the screen supper smooth. Next clean the wiper blade well (soap and water). If/when it happens again use a the windsheild washer spray and it should clean the wiper and screen enough to make it go away but eventually you will need to repeat the cleaning steps.

Thanks a lot for the reply. Decided to just upgrade the wipers with rainx. Seems to be fine now.
